A little about Linda
Well done on taking a very important step towards realising you don’t need to do this alone. Life is a journey of lots of ups and downs and the reality we will all be faced with at some point with big challenges along the way.
In a world where we are often inundated with information, its often hard to know where to start. Navigating these challenges can be so much smoother if you have someone that isn’t immersed in your story, to assist in guiding your along the way.
Kind of like a wingman. That’s where I can assist.
It is important to find the right counsellor or therapist. Someone who ‘gets you’.
To help you know if I might be the right person for you, here is a little bit about me.
My background is pretty varied as life has been pretty good at throwing me curved balls.
Born into a large farming family I have always a strong connection with nature. My childhood was shaped by significant family illnesses and I learnt early that the role of nurturer suited me well. I nursed many a sick or injured animal back to health so it was a very natural transition to being a nurse.
I have spent the last 30 years working in healthcare in a variety of positions such as Emergency Care, Aged Care, Community, Chronic Health, Palliative Care, Mental Health, Patient Safety, Quality and Risk and Counselling & Therapy. My roles were a combination of patient/ client/ family focused as well as training and supporting nurses, doctors, first responders and many other varieties of support staff. During this time I went on to undertake a Master of Gestalt Therapy so I could really help people going though such hard times
During this time I have also been a small business owner with a keen interest in business and know first hand the challenges and rewards owning a small business offers. I have experience in accounts, marketing, website design, business law, staff training, WH & S and undertook a Master of Business Administration to further develop my knowledge in this area.
From a personal perspective I have 3 adult son’s, 2 step daughters and 1 transgender son and now live with my partner in the beautiful Gold Coast Hinterland on our Quarter Horse Stud Ricinda Ranch. Challenges I have faced included, family violence, addiction, eating disorders, separation, single parenthood, blended families, grief and loss, dealing with children, adolescents, chronic health, ageing parents.
The list goes on really... So I guess what I wanted you to know is, I do get it and know from lived experience how tough life can be and more importantly, how to build strength and resources to not only survive but THRIVE again.
